Local and foreign tourists have been encouraged to visit Andahuaylas, the capital of Apurimac, located in the center of Peru, to gather Peru’s National Holidays celebrations, reported Apurimac’s Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur).

Andahuaylas has lots of tourist attractions including archaeological sites, Andean views, and thermal baths, among others.

Located 15 kilometers away from Andahuaylas at 3,125 meters above sea level, Lake Pacucha, is considered as one of the best ecotourism centers in Apurimac.

The archeological site of Sondor, or "Sitio Inca" (the Inca Place), located 21 kilometers from Andahuaylas city, is a ceremonial center and archeological site located in the Pacucha district, 30 minutes from Andahuaylas.

According to studies, this site has architectonical elements of monumental character.

Visitors interested in sports can enjoy a Motocross National Competition to be held August 1st.

The contest, organized by Motoclub Chanka, Andahuaylas’ Municipality and Apurimac’s Regional Government, will be attended by famous Peruvian riders.

Attendees can also participate at the Yawar Bulls Race carried out on July 28 and 29, during the National Holidays, in the town of Cotabambas.
