Pitch follows a young female pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) who defies the odds when she becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues — specifically the San Diego Padres. The casting marks a return to the network for Connolly, who previously starred on Fox’s short-lived sitcom Great Scott! in 1992. “I’ve had a great relationship with Fox over the years and am happy to be back,” he says. Pitch debuts Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
