Supermodel, actor, entrepreneur, and singer Naomi Campbell has added yet another feather to her already-decorated hat as she has now turned a fashion designer. During the ongoing New York Fashion Week, Campbell showcased her most recent collection with PrettyLittleThing. She even walked the runway on Tuesday at Cipriani 25 Broadway.

In her PrettyLittleThing x Naomi Campbell show, Campbell, 53, unveiled 82 looks that were all based on her well-known ’90s attire.

Campbell collaborated with upcoming designers Victor Anate and Edvin Thompson to produce sensual mesh pieces, short party dresses with sequins, and elegant, seductive gowns.

According to the website, the runway included various models who wore  “figure-worshipping dresses to statement faux fur coats and dreamy knitted co-ords.”

However, the show wasn’t finished until the runway queen walked out herself, capping it off in the $125 black, embroidered mesh, backless, high-neck maxi dress.

Festive offer

It was “nerve-wracking to do that walk — on every level,” Campbell, a pro who made her modelling debut at age 15 in 1986 and has since been an international supermodel, told TMZ. “This is what I wanted.”

The mother of two, who has been modelling for almost 40 years, demonstrated on the PrettyLittleThing runway that she still exudes the confidence and grace that have made her one of the most recognisable high fashion figures.

When the collection was first revealed in June, it drew mixed reviews from fashion and sustainability enthusiasts who questioned the supermodel’s choice to collaborate with fast-fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing. Campbell, though, believes that PLT’s enormous reach—the company has 18.1 million Instagram users worldwide—is essential for promoting up-and-coming talents like Thompson and Anate, according to Vogue US.

Teyana Taylor and Lori Harvey, two former PLT celebrity designers, also attended the event wearing Campbell’s creations. Taylor donned the black, fitted, satin-lapel straight-leg jumpsuit that costs $105 on the PLT website, while Harvey wore the black sheer knit cowl hooded maxi dress that retails for $45.

She gathered renowned members of the New York fashion community, including Bethann Hardison, Patti Wilson, Alton Mason, and Julia Fox, to commemorate her creative directorial debut. Emily Ratajkowski, Logan Paul, and Tommy Dorfman were also seated front row, witnessing the legend’s collection.

Afrobeat musician Davido gave a performance near the end of Campbell’s legendary event, performing some of his singles, including “Fall” and “Unavailable.”
