Anahí from RBD Announces Stage Retirement

The final performance of the band will be on December 21, 2023

After a highly anticipated and emotionally charged reunion that delighted fans of the beloved Mexican band RBD, the group embarked on a tour across the United States. One of the standout performances took place at the Sun Bowl stadium in El Paso, Texas, on August 25th, where over 50,000 attendees saw their long-held dreams come true as the band graced the stage once again. Just two days later, they achieved yet another sold-out performance, this time at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

It’s important to note that the band had disbanded fifteen years ago following their last concert in Madrid. Despite the recent successes of the band’s global tour, titled ‘Soy Rebelde,’ Anahí has decided to step away from the spotlight, according to People.

Definitely, this tour is the last dance, it’s a beautiful farewell that I will carry in my heart forever. For me, it’s the most beautiful gift to be doing the most important tour in Latin America in recent times, with the most incredible group that has ever existed, RBD, of which I am the number one fan,” she told Agencia Reforma.

Goodbye RBD

Anahí, who is widely recognized for her role as Mia Colucci in the iconic telenovela that brought RBD to fame, has openly expressed that returning to the stage with the band fulfilled a lifelong dream for her. Her excitement and passion for the tour have been evident, especially during a memorable moment at a California concert. During a performance of one of their most cherished songs, «Sálvame,» the actress and singer knelt on the stage, tears welling up in her eyes as she was deeply moved by the presence of her dedicated fans. However, now at the age of 40, Anahí has also built a beautiful family, which includes her husband and two children.

I can say goodbye in such a beautiful way and show my children and someday my grandchildren what I left in people’s hearts. What matters most to me is that love that will remain forever, no matter if we are far or near; we will carry what we are enjoying,” she added.

Unfortunately for the band’s fans, this fleeting dream will come to an end soon, specifically on December 21, 2023, as it will mark their final performance with RBD in Mexico. What we must appreciate is that the band decided, even if only for a brief period, to resurrect one of Mexico’s most iconic and important bands.
