Wisin Gets Better

After Juan Luis Morera, better known as Wisin, had to be hospitalized for what was believed to be dengue fever, the member of Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel has gotten better.

“He's feeling much, much better. They have him in treatment. The doctor ordered him [to rest]. Let's hope he can get back to work next week,” the duo's representative, Lourdes Pérez, told news agency EFE.

According to reports, the 27-year-old singer got the chills last Saturday at a David Bisbal concert in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The duo still came on stage, though, to sing “La torre de Babel” with the Spanish singer. The next day, the two went to Miami, where they presented their new album Wisin vs. Yandel: Los extraterrestres on Tuesday.

Wisin's health continued to get worse; he was vomiting, had diarrhea and the chills, and was forced to cancel activities and interviews. Tuesday morning, the singer was taken to a hospital in Miami, where he received medical treatment. Later, Wisin was flown with his team to Puerto Rico, where he checked into the same hospital he's at now.

The duo's new album is scheduled to launch on Nov. 6. Yesterday, the Zune marketing team of Microsoft Corp. announced that a limited edition Zune music player will go on sale Oct. 29, and will come pre-loaded with the duo's new album, an extra song, photos, music videos and concert footage.
