Mexican Singer Juan Gabriel Dead at 66

The Latin singer-songwriter is believed to have died of natural causes

Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel has died. He was 66. According to TMZ, it is believed the singer died of natural causes, with no foul play suspected. Gabriel was in the midst of his MeXXIco Es Todo Tour, having just performed the Forum in Los Angeles this past Friday. Through the course of his decades-long career, he released over 30 studio albums, and composed songs for numerous other artists as well. Gabriel was named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year in 1995, and was nominated for six Grammys in his lifetime. Beloved in his home country and around the world, Gabriel’s albums have sold over 30 million copies in total. He had both the highest grossing Latin tour and Latin album of 2015.
