Radiohead and the Smile’s Thom Yorke has penned the score for Italian filmmaker Daniele Luchetti’s upcoming feature Confidenza. The film is based on Domenico Starnone’s 2019 novel of the same name, which translates to “Trust” in English. This will mark Yorke’s first full score for a narrative film since he worked on Luca Guadagnino’s 2018 Suspiria remake. The following year, he contributed music to Edward Norton’s drama, Motherless Brooklyn.

Confidenza is slated to premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam later this week, although a wide release date has not been confirmed. The film, which stars Elio Germano, Vittoria Puccini, and Isabella Ferrari, is set in Rome, and follows a high school teacher who gets romantically entangled with a former student.

This Friday, January 26, Yorke and the Smile will release their second studio album, Wall of Eyes. The trio’s debut, A Light for Attracting Attention, arrived in 2022.
