A video for David Bisbal’s latest single, “Duele Demasiado” (“It Hurts Too Much”) addresses the pain of child refugees. Footage of children is shown along with shots of the Spanish pop star amidst the rubble of war, in a new video for the song to benefit UNICEF.
All of Bisbal’s profits from the single will go to UNICEF campaigns for children in emergency situations due to armed conflict or natural disasters.
“Like the song says, it hurts me too much to know that there are millions of innocent children who are suffering,” Bisbal says in a statement from the organization. “This comes from my heart as an homage to their bravery, and with the desire and the true hope that together, it is possible to achieve a more dignified life for them; a life in which they can enjoy their childhood.”
“Duele Demasiado” will be included on the artist’s new album Hijos del Mar (Children of the Sea) — whose title, perhaps inadvertently, also alludes to the refugee crisis. The release date is Dec. 2 (Universal Music Spain).

Hijos del Mar is the singer and songwriter’s sixth studio album since he came to fame on Spain’s original television music competition Operacion Triunfo. Other well-known Spanish pop artists, including Antonio Orozco and Pablo López, will perform with Bisbal on the album.
