The set, released via Sony Music Latin on May 24, opens with a little over 1,000 equivalent album units, earned in the week ending May 30, according to Nielsen Music. Most of that sum is attributed to traditional album sales.
Montaner last debuted on the Latin Pop Album chart in 2016 when Ida Y Vuelta debuted at No. 1 (Nov. 19, 2016). He claimed his first chart leader 27 years before, however, as his self-titled album Ricardo Montaner, peaked at No. 1 in its sixth week on the tally (April 8, 1989).
Over on the Latin Album Sales chart, Montaner launches at No. 2.
Montaner has yielded one song on the Latin Pop Songs chart: first single “¿Qué Vas a Hacer?,” debuted and peaked at No. 38 on the chart dated Fab. 16. (Its music video stars J Balvin and Lali.)
Concurrently, Montaner launches at No. 30 on the overall Top Latin Albums chart — his 17th charting effort.
Paulo Londra Hits a Homerun: Meanwhile, Argentinian Paulo Londra scores his first chart entry on any Billboard albums chart as his debut album Homerun opens at No. 10 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart. The set, released on Big Ligas/ Warner Latina, earned 3,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 30, with the bulk of its initial sum attributed to streaming activity.
The 18-track effort, all written by the 21-year old, marks the Argentinian’s first visit to the Latin Rhythm Albums chart and his first top 10. It concurrently, debuts at No. 12 on the Top Latin Albums chart.
The album’s arrival is concurrent with a debut from Londra on the Hot Latin Songs chart, as “Tal Vez,” the set’s second single, bows at No. 43. Earlier in the year, the album’s “Adan y Eva” peaked at No. 25 (March 9).
Otra Cosa Arrival: Elsewhere, Gente de Zona snags its second top 10 on the Tropical Albums chart as Otra Cosa starts at No. 8 with a little less than 1,000 equivalent album units collected in the week ending May 30.
Otra bests the duo’s (Alexander Delgado Hernández and Randy Malcom Martínez) previous chart entry En Letra De Otro, which debuted and peaked at No. 20 on Nov. 10, 2018. Previous to that, the act led the list for nine weeks in 2016 with Visualizate.
The Cuban duo’s new album has yielded two songs on the Tropical Songs airplay chart: “Hazle Completo El Cuento,” with El Micha, which peaked at No. 16 (Feb. 9-dated list) and “El Mentiroso,” with Silvestre Dangond, a No. 9 peak (May 18).
Jhay Cortez Debuts: Lastly, Lastly, Jhay Cortez makes his first visit to any Billboard albums chart. Famouz debuts at No. 11 on Latin Rhythm Albums and No. 14 on the Top Latin Albums.
The set, released via Universal Latino/ UMLE, earned 3,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 30, powered mostly by streaming activity.
Cortez scored his first appearance on any Billboard chart when the remix of his song “No Me Conoce,” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny, entered the Hot Latin Songs chart dated June 1 at No. 26. It speeds up the list in its second week, jumping 26-16.
