Victor Rene Gonzales Jr. was born in Galveston, Texas on May 7, 1985 to his loving parents, Lisa and Victor R. Gonzales Sr. He went home with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the age of 37.

Victor was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. Growing up, Victor enjoyed boxing, baseball, basketball and football. The Chicago Bulls, LA Lakers, and Houston Texans were his favorite teams. He had a passion for the outdoors and caring for animals. If it was a nice day, you would catch Victor outside spending time with friends and family who he loved dearly. He found joy in bringing other people happiness. Victor was a person who would light up a room when he walked in. His big smile and humor would have everyone around him smiling, laughing and having a great time. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for others. He never failed to leave his mark on anyone he crossed paths with and will be greatly missed. Victor turned his life to God and attended church often. He received his GED and was preparing to open his own business. Victor looked forward to coming back to his family and beginning a new chapter in his life, but God was ready to call him home. “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

Victor was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Marie Gonzales; grandparents Ramona and Isaias Isais, Eufracia and Ralph Gonzales Sr.; uncles Ralph Gonzales Jr. and Pepe Gonzales; Aunt Libby Gonzales; and dear cousin Zachary Gonzales. Victor is survived by his children, Alexis R. Gonzales and Victor R. Gonzales III; father Victor Gonzales Sr. and wife Amy; sisters Stevie Gonzales and husband Juan Cervantes Jr., Krystal Gonzales and husband Robert Lopez; nieces Gabriella and Adriana Lopez; godson Malik Tezeno; his best friend Misty Womble and her children, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers are Robert Caros, Julian Cruz, Victor R. Gonzales III, Davian Rodriguez, Henry Rodriguez Jr., and Roland Vasquez Jr.

Funeral services are at 10:00 am Monday, September 12, 2022 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, with Pastor Rudy Soto officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.
