Heath Ledger's family give his millions to his two-year-old daughter Matilda
Every penny of Heath Ledger's fortune will go to his daughter, Matilda Rose, the late actor's father has revealed.
In Ledger's will, which has been probated behind closed doors at the Australian Supreme Court in Perth, the 28-year-old actor left everything to his parents and three sisters. But the will was signed by the actor on April 12, 2003 - two years before Matilda was born.
It was expected that Ledger's former fiancee, Michelle Williams, would lodge a claim on the will on behalf of their daughter. But Ledger's father, Kim, instead told Australia's Herald Sun that the family had decided to give everything to Matilda.
Heath Ledger with his daughter Matilda, who is to inherit his fortune
The will left half the estate to Ledger's sisters, Kate and Olivia Ledger and Ashleigh Bell. The remainder was to go to his father and mother Sally Bell, after debts had been paid.
'There is no claim,' Mr Ledger told the paper. 'Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.'
Adelaide accountant Mark Dyson, an executor of the Ledger estate, said he could not reveal what Matilda would inherit, but it is estimated to be in the millions.
The Brokeback Mountain actor died of an accidental drug overdose in a Manhattan apartment on January 22nd.
Meanwhile, lawyers acting on behalf of two-year-old Matilda are suing ReliaStar Life Insurance Company, who wrote a $10million life insurance policy on the actor six months before he died.
Despite officials concluding his death was accidental, ReliaStar started an investigation to see if Ledger committed suicide.
Legal papers filed by Matilda's trustee, obtained by celebrity website TMZ.com, accuse ReliaStar of acting in bad faith by not paying out the policy amount promptly and wrongfully prying into the actor's life.
An official for ReliaStar told TMZ: 'No decision has been made on the claim.'
