This story contains spoilers for Invincible Season Two.

Nothing called Invincible could only last one season, right? So, it's no surprise that Amazon Prime Video's animated superhero series, Invincible, is back for another round. Based on the comic of the same name, the animated Invincible adaptation was a surprise hit when it debuted in 2021. In Season Two, superhero teen Mark Grayson continues on his journey to discover what makes a hero. Written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, the first season adapted the beginning of Mark's long and celebrated story.

With many similarities to Superman, Invincible's Mark Grayson is technically an alien from another planet imbued with superhuman abilities. His father, the all-powerful Omni-Man, is Earth's greatest protector. But after learning his father's dark secrets, they're forced to trade fists in an explosive Season One finale. Now that Mark's the only one left to protect his home, Season Two has presented him with even more enemies and challenges. Invincible also adds Sterling K. Brown to its already stellar voice cast of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Walton Goggins, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beatz, Mark Hamill, and many more.

Invicible returned on November 3, adding a multiverse plot to Mark Grayson's ongoing superhero struggles. Angstrom Levy, a dangerous scientist from an alternative Earth where Mark is evil, sets out to destroy every version of Mark throughout the multiverse. Plus, there's a lot of enemies from Season One looking for revenge. Now, only Mark is left to stop them. Even worse, his father is still out there somewhere in the galaxy. The theme of Season Two? Trauma. "This is an extremely complicated show," Kirkman told a panel at Comic-Con earlier this year. "It’s an hour-long animated series. There are so many characters and scenes. We really had to wrap our heads around how this production was going to be managed."

According to Kirkman, the second season will also be split into two parts. Invincible is airing the first four episodes in weekly installments, ending with November 24th's shocking return for a certain superhero father. The rest of Season Two will premiere in early 2024. "With everything going on in that time of year with, you know, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and a lot of family time, I think a lot of shows get lost in the shuffle there," the show's creator told Collider. "So I think it's good to take a pause and narratively, it's gonna make things hit a little bit harder. People will know what I'm talking about when the season launches."
