The “King of Kings” rapper and reggaeton star Don Omar is hoarding this year’s Billboard Latin Music Award nominations.
Don Omar, whose real name is William Omar Landrón Rivera, leads the pack of finalists with 16 nominations in 14 categories, Telemundo announced Tuesday. The Puerto Rican artist is named twice in two of the categories.

Closely following is Miami's native son, rapper Pitbull. Prince Royce and Romeo Santos of the group Aventura, whose R&B-tinged bachata has captivated audiences, also made the top of the list.
Long established acts like Mexican rock phenomenon Mana did well, competing in 11 categories. Shakira was a finalist in 10 categories. Other finalists include Wisin y Yandel, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes, Daddy Yankee and Enrique Iglesias.

Katy Perry and Rihanna were named nominated crossover artist of the year.
Telemundo will air the program live April 26 from the BankUnited Center in the Miami-Dade County suburb of Coral Gables. Winners are determined by sales and radio play. Daddy Yankee and Juanes are among the artists slated to perform.
The show caps off the Billboard Latin Music Conference, April 23 through 26, at the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami. The conference brings together top Latin music artists and industry players for panel discussions, music showcases and networking.
The 2011 Latin Music Billboard Awards was a star-studded event, but no one outshone Enrique Iglesias, who took home the most awards, including the coveted "Artist of the Year."

The Spaniard started off the ceremony with an energy-filled performance of his two newest singles "No me digas que no,” and “Tonight,” -- performed with fellow reggaetoneros Wisin and Yandel -- as the strobe neon lights lit up the Bank United Center stage on Thursday in Miami.
The "Tonight" star also took home merits in the “Hot Latin Song Artist of the Year,” “Latin Pop Album of the Year,” “Top Latin Album of the Year” categories.
