John Travolta commented on the years-old rumors that he is gay in an interview with The Daily Beast published on Tuesday. The actor also addressed the pending lawsuit against him by Douglas Gotterba, a former employee of Travolta's who is suing for the right to write a book about his alleged romantic relationship with the "Pulp Fiction" star.
Speaking to promote his upcoming film "Forger," Travolta said of the lawsuit and the rumors, "This is every celebrity's Achilles heel. It's just about people wanting money. That's all. It happens on many levels."

When asked why he seems to be targeted about these types of allegations more than others, he said, "Also I don't care that much about it. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can't control it. I think that's why it persists, to some degree."
Travolta found the media attention particularly disheartening following the tragic loss of his son in 2009, when some sites reported that his son Jett was found by his alleged gay lover. "I found [the attention] most offensive with the loss of my son. I felt like that was the lowest I'd ever felt. Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family. You really should. With that, I always felt like the media—not all of the media, but parts of it—went too low there. "
Travolta was sued in 2012 by a cruise ship employee who claims the actor stripped off his robe and then pushed him. The suit was later dropped.
