GameReplays uses Xfire as the preferred messenger/communication program for RotWK players. (Don't have Xfire?
Get it here.) Most RotWK players are familiar with using Xfire to chat with friends, but many are not familiar with how to use Xfire to join chat rooms. On GameReplays, we use Xfire chat rooms for two purposes:
- Organizing ClanWars games. Join the "rotwk cw lobby" channel in order to find opponents for ClanWars games.
- Participating in GameReplays single-day tournaments. All tournament players must join the "gr rotwk tournament channel" within five minutes of the tournament start time, or be disqualified.
Therefore, you should be familiar with how to join these chat rooms. After logging into Xfire, switch from Friends view to Chat Rooms view by clicking the Chat Rooms button on the left toolbar:
In the lower left corner of Chat Rooms view, type the name of the chat room you wish to find into the search box, then click the green Enter Chat Room arrow:
That's it, you're in the room! Now go under the Actions toolbar and click Save on the bottom to save the chat room as one of your favorites, so you don't have to do a Search for it ever again.
That's all you need to do to join an Xfire chat room! Remember, the name for the chat room we use for ClanWars is "rotwk cw lobby" and the name of the chat room we use for single-day tournaments is "gr rotwk tournament channel".
