Ashley Olsen has taken “discreet” to a whole new level when it comes to her relationship with artist Louis Eisner.

Despite the two being linked since 2017, Ashley didn’t even make an appearance on Eisner’s Instagram Stories until 2021 when he posted a photo of the Row designer hiking with a machete in hand. “We were raised to be discreet people,” twin sister Mary-Kate Olsen explained in a rare interview with i-D in June 2021.

Discreet indeed. We hadn’t heard much more from Ashley and Louis before news broke that the pair secretly married in late December 2022. Here’s a complete timeline of the couple’s under-the-radar relationship.

March 2017: Ashley reportedly splits from then-boyfriend Richard Sachs, per Us Weekly. “She wants to focus on her clothing line right now,” a source told the outlet at the time. “They’re still friends and hang out.”

Sometime before the end of the year, however, Ashley Olsen is linked to Louis Eisner. The California native is the son of photographer and jewelry designer Lisa Eisner and entertainment lawyer Eric Eisner.

August 28, 2018: The pair are photographed walking arm in arm on a casual stroll in Los Angeles.

July 29, 2019: The pair spark engagement rumors when Ashley is spotted wearing a ring on that finger during an LA date night with Louis.

March 14, 2021: Ashley and Louis are photographed wearing masks on a double date in NYC.

July 9, 2021: Louis posts a rare photo of the fashion mogul on his Instagram Stories. In the slightly unhinged pic, Ashley wears a white sweatshirt, linen pants, black Yeezy sneakers, a backward baseball cap, and large sunnies while carrying an unknown beverage and a whole machete, unsheathed. Casual.

December 28, 2022: The pair reportedly gets married at a private home in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles. A source speaking with Page Six in a story published a week later says the intimate wedding “went late with 50 people or so total.”

A few days after that story, People reported that the event was attended by a small number of close friends and family, including Mary-Kate and the twins’ younger sister Elizabeth Olsen. “[Ashley] is very close with her family. Louis is very close with his family too, and they were in attendance as well,” a source said. “For them, it was a perfect celebration. They never wanted a huge wedding.”
