Stella McCartney is dipping her toes into the menswear space. Though the designer has created menswear for the likes of her husband, artist and brand consultant Alasdhair Willis, as well as Beatles dad Paul McCartney, this marks the first time the eco-friendly designer will be debuting a men’s collection under her sustainable, namesake label.
Instead of showcasing her new designs at Pitti Uomo, the men’s fashion trade show held in Italy this week, McCartney will reveal her new men’s line alongside her women’s spring 2017 collection in London on Nov. 10. In embracing the see-now, buy-now model, the designer’s womenswear will be available in stores in November. Menswear will hit shelves the next month.
McCartney will continue to present her summer 2017 collection during Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 3.
The designer — who has famous fans in music (Rihanna and Haim) and film (Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon), to name a few — already does big business creating sleek, flattering pantsuits for women. So we expect we could see a bevy of dapper dudes across multiple genres — whether it’s singer-songwriter Beck or actors Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp (all who attended her Amoeba Music store bash in L.A. in January) — sporting her new designs.
McCartney, whose brand is under the Kering luxury umbrella, has been staying busy. She recently launched her fragrance, POP, with Grimes fronting the ad campaign, and released her first swimwear line in July. She’s also created the British Olympic teams’ uniform ahead of this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio this August.
