Producer, artist and longtime music executive Jermaine Dupri has signed with CAA in all areas.
The Grammy winner, who launched So So Def Recordings in 1993, has collaborated with such artists as Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Jay Z, Nelly, Ludacris, TLC and Diddy, among others. A DJ (one of the first in hip hop to hold a five-year residency at Wynn Las Vegas), songwriter and published author (his biography, Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul, was released in 2007), Dupri is also known for having dated Jackson in the 2000s and hiring Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun to run marketing at So So Def in 2001.
Beyond music, Dupri holds an executive producer title on Lifetime’s unscripted series The Rap Game, along with Queen Latifah, and stars on the show, serving as a mentor to the contestants. Next up: Dupri will star in BET Network’s docu-series Music Moguls with Snoop Dogg, Cash Money’s Birdman and Damon Dash.
