Katee Sackhoff starred as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the rebooted take on "Battlestar Galactica."

The dawn of a new month means two things: rent's due, and Netflix is rolling out changes to its streaming lineup. While the big news most months is what's being added, October is notable for what's going away.

We're losing 'Battlestar Galactica' after Sept. 30.

Deep breaths.

All is not lost, though. According to Ross Miller's math over on The Verge, you can stream all 60 hours of the 2003-09 reboot -- the two-part pilot miniseries, 73 normal episodes and the 'Razor' movie -- if you start before 12:35 p.m. Sunday.

Also going away at the end of September (according to WhatsOnNetflixNow.com): all the 'Law & Order' series, 'The African Queen' and 'Don't Look Now,' the last of which would make great Halloween watching.

The flipping of the calendar page doesn't bring only bad news, however. It just feels like it. Netflix may taketh away, but Netflix also giveth. Joining the streaming catalog at various times across October:

News of the addition of the complete 'The Gilmore Girls' broke early in September, but we will also be getting the most recent seasons of 'Supernatural,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' 'Arrow' and 'Sons of Anarchy,' plus the debut season of TVD spinoff "The Originals." Moviewise, "Team America: World Police" and "Shane" arrive Oct.1, as does "Galaxy Quest."

By Grabthar's hammer, 'Battlestar Galactica" will be avenged…
