It Looks Like We're Finally Getting New Music From Rihanna — And a World Tour

This seems too good to be true.

After a whirlwind year filled with an epic Super Bowl Halftime, an Oscars performance, an iconic Met Gala appearance, and welcoming her second child with A$AP Rocky, Rihanna is already planning her move for next year. And, yes, that plan includes new music.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the star is releasing new music and has struck a deal with Live Nation for a 2024/2025 world tour. While Rihanna has yet to confirm this information, and there is no official release date, fans can be (cautiously) optimistic that the long-awaited album is coming.

Rihanna's most recent album, Anti, dropped in 2016, though the singer released her first single in six years titled "Lift Me Up" in 2022 as a part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Earlier this year, Rihanna performed the song, which was nominated for Best Original Song, on stage at the 2023 Oscars.

The businesswoman and mother of two has understandably been focused on raising her and A$AP's two sons. The couple welcomed RZA Athelston Mayers back in May 2022 and then celebrated the arrival of their second son, Riot Rose Mayers, in August. A source previously told People that she is very content with her family at the moment. “Rihanna feels her family is now complete,” the insider told the outlet. “It’s something she’s always wanted."

In terms of her baby-on-the-way (baby being new music), RiRi told British Vogue in February that she was aiming to drop new tunes this year. “I want it to be this year,” she said at the time. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”

Though we are nearing the end of the year with no official release date in sight, Rihanna still has over two months to give the people what they want. But, at the end of the day, she can take as long as she needs.
