Liverpool's players are currently away on international duty, but there's still plenty of news to sink your teeth into from Anfield, with the Reds being linked to two transfers ahead of the January window.

Agent 'confirms' Liverpool interest in defender

Pervis Estupiñán’s agent has confirmed a number of Premier League and La Liga sides are interested in the Brighton left-back, and Liverpool could be among them.

The Reds were linked with the Ecuador international during the summer (as per Football Transfers) but a move never materialized, with Jürgen Klopp instead focusing on bolstering his midfield.

Defenders though could soon be the priority as we move closer to January, and Estupiñán could be the latest Brighton star to be targeted, with the 25-year-old’s agent Manuel Sierra claiming his client is attracting interest.

“Pervis is a super interesting player, who several teams from the Premier [League] are keen on,” Sierra revealed (via Sport Witness).

“Spanish football [clubs] and others have asked about his situation, because they are looking for a left-back and he is one of the best in the world in his position.

“We have to be prepared with him [for a possible transfer], we don’t even know what Brighton is going to ask for, people are a little afraid of the club [due to Caicedo’s transfer and those negotiations].

“We will see in the summer how his situation is, now he is injured and will have a maximum of a month [out].”

Liverpool 'still watching' Koné

Liverpool is ‘still watching’ Manu Koné, according to reports in Germany.

The Reds of course signed Wataru Endō as their new defensive midfielder during the summer, but the Japanese international has not featured much in the Premier League, with Alexis Mac Allister instead emerging as the first-choice in the position.

That could lead Liverpool to target another number six in the upcoming transfer windows, with Koné having been previously linked during the summer.

The 22-year-old suffered a knee injury while on duty with France at the U21 Euros, effectively ruling him out of any transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

But, according to Christian Falk, Liverpool is still interested in Koné, although it could face competition from Bayern Munich.
