The following story contains spoilers for Invincible Season 2.

IT SEEMS LIKE it just started, but Invincible Season 2 is over. Prime Video's subversive, R-rated superhero series was just as good in its expansive second go-around as the moment-stealing first season, but due to a lengthy wait after Season 1 and a two-part release for Season 2—with each half consisting of just four episodes—the momentum never quite seemed to match what it was back in 2021, when the show first premiered.

That won't be an issue for anyone catching up on the show late or new binge-watching adapters, who can now watch all 16 episodes of the show at their own pace. And, since Invincible was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 at the same time, the long wait and stilted release should also be a thing of the past. In a video posted to social media to announce the renewal, creator Robert Kirkman even said he hoped they'd get to make "a hundred more seasons"—but those haven't all gotten the green light just yet.

That's the good news. We'll see more of Mark Grayson, Nolan Grayson, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Cecil, and the rest of the crew—and sooner than we probably realize. One bit of rough news? Well, yeah: Season 2 is over. And now we have to wait again for more of our favorite bloody universe-spanning superhero epic.

Fortunately, for those of us obsessed with Invincible, there are lots and lots of comics to dive into as a way to satisfy the craving in the meantime. There are Invincible comics (144 issues of them, to be exact), and there are Atom Eve and Atom Eve and Rexsplode spinoffs, and even a full-on series centered on Mark's favorite superhero, Science Dog (renamed to "Seance Dog" in the Prime Video series). There's a lot of good stuff, if you're wanting and willing to dive in.

Aside from all that, though, here's what else we know about the forthcoming Season 3 of Invincible.

Will there be an Invincible Season 3?

There will be! Back in 2021, Invincible was renewed for Season 2 and 3 simultaneously, and creator Robert Kirkman and star Steven Yeun revealed the news in a video posted to social media.

The obvious good news in and of itself is that Invincible will have a Season 3; we don't have to wait for Amazon to run the numbers or anything like that.

The even better news, though, is that it means the Invincible cast have already been hard at work, and while animation does take a long time (and the show made a wonderful meta-reference to this in Season 2, Episode 7 with the "Seance Dog" writer character, as voiced by Tim Robinson) the delay between Seasons 2 and 3 won't be anywhere near the 2.5 year delay between Seasons 1 and 2.

There are a number of characters we can be certain will return to the impressive Invincible voice cast for Season 3, as they are utterly integral to the story: that includes Invincible, Omni-Man, Debbie Grayson, Cecil Stedman, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, and Allen the Alien, among others. That means the incredible voice talents of Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, and Seth Rogen will all return. Several other key characters will most certainly be back as well.

On the official Invincible podcast, Robert Kirkman also confirmed that two fan-favorite characters, Titan (voiced by Mahershala Ali) and Battle Beast (voiced by Michael Dorn), will be returning for Season 3 after not appearing in Season 2.

Could that mean Mark is rallying the troops on earth—to join himself, Cecil's forces, and his father—as they get ready to take on the Viltrum empire? Only time will tell, but luckily that time shouldn't be all too much.
