Brad Pitt’s 2nd son blasted him as ‘terrible,’ ‘awful human being’ in 2020 post, report says

Several months after Brad Pitt reached the pinnacle of his Hollywood career in 2020 by winning an Academy Award, his second son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, reportedly blasted him on Father’s Day as an “awful human being” who makes the youngest of his six children “tremble in fear.”

The then-16-year-old used his private Instagram account to slam Pitt, penning his screed over a photo of Pitt accepting his Oscar for best supporting actor in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in February 2020, the Daily Mail reported. Four years earlier, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after the actor allegedly became intoxicated and abusive to her and at least two of their six children on a private plane ride from Europe to Los Angeles.

“Happy Father’s Day to this world class a–hole!!” wrote Jolie-Pitt, now 19, according to a screenshot of the post, which was published by the Daily Mail. “You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person.”

“You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence,” Jolie-Pitt reportedly continued, referring to his sisters, Zahara, 18, and Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15. For several years, Pax’s 22-year-old brother, Maddox, was reported to be the focus of Pitt’s alleged ire during that highly publicized plane ordeal, and it’s long been reported that he is estranged from his father.

Pax Jolie-Pitt said the “Fight Club” actor would “never understand the damage” he inflicted on their family, because he is “incapable of doing so,” according to the Daily Mail report.

“You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell,” Pax Jolie-Pitt continued, according to the report. “You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday.

The Daily Mail said it reached out to Angelina Jolie and Pax Jolie-Pitt’s representative for comment but received no response. Pitt’s rep declined to comment.

Pax Jolie-Pitt was adopted by Jolie from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2007, the Daily Mail reported. He was three years old and had been left there as a newborn by his heroin-addicted biological mother. Pitt formally joined Jolie in adopting the boy the following year.

This report about Pax Jolie-Pitt’s private post comes several days after Pitt’s oldest daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, conspicuously failed to mention her father’s last name when she proudly declared herself a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta, Page Six reported.

Essence magazine shared a clip of Zahara Jolie-Pitt at the sorority’s induction ceremony this week, with the caption: “The first Black sorority just gained a very familiar face as a member!”

But in introducing herself to her sorority, the 18-year-old appeared to shout “Zahara Marley Jolie.” She was  adopted from Ethiopia in 2005, first by Jolie as a single mother and then by Jolie and Pitt together when they became a couple. She has long been known as “Zahara Jolie-Pitt,” but that’s not how she identified herself at the ceremony.

The omission raised questions online about whether she, too, has become estranged from her famous father, after her mother first made the explosive domestic violence allegations against him in their ongoing divorce battle.

 

Page Six reported that Pitt has not been photographed with any of his children since 2016, when Jolie filed for divorce. Jolie often has been photographed in public with the children, shopping in Los Angeles or attending red carpet events. When Zahara Jolie-Pitt joined the AKA sorority last week, her mother and two older brothers, Maddox and Pax, were there to celebrate with her, People magazine reported, citing a photo shared by a fan account dedicated to the actor.

Following their split, Pitt and Jolie publicly and viciously fought over the custody of their six children, as well as the sale of the French winery they purchased together in 2008.

Last year, Jolie alleged that Pitt mistreated her and their six children during the long and tense plane ride, saying in court documents that Pitt choked one of their children and struck another across the face, as he terrorized his entire family for hours on the flight to Los Angeles.

As the children have reached adulthood, the custody case seems to have died down. A recent Vogue profile of Jolie made it sound as though Pitt doesn’t have much of a role in their children’s lives, as it refers to Jolie as a “single mother of six.”

Pitt was open about addressing his alcohol and anger management problems in interviews in 2019 and 2020, as he charmed the media and Academy voters in his campaign to win his Oscar. The FBI investigated the plane incident “thoroughly” and chose “not to bring any charges” against Pitt, a source told Page Six in 2022.

Sources close to Pitt strongly denied the domestic violence allegations, saying they were part of a “smear campaign” by Jolie to gain an advantage in the custody battle.

Pitt has said little about his relationship with his children in recent years, Page Six reported. But when Zahara Jolie-Pitt began her freshman year at Spelman College in 2022, Pitt congratulated her.

“She’s so smart,” Pitt told Vanity Fair at the time. “She’s going to flourish even more at college. It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud.”
