      Critics Consensus

Collide wastes a talented cast on a would-be thriller fatally undermined by eye-rolling dialogue, logical fallacies, and humdrum set pieces.

David H I'm really sorry but I can't understand the negative reviews for this movie. Sure, it's not Citizen Kane but what is (apart from Citizen Kane)? This is a terrific action movie with a great cast. So good to see Sir Anthony and Sir Ben chewing the scenery, and Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones are terrific. Turn your brains off and enjoy!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/23 Full Review Laurie S The main reason it's got such a low score is because there's so many cheats in it so it lesses it as a decent above average film. Had it had a more honest and better director it could have achieved 4 glorious stars. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review rob b Not B-Grade, not A-List, just S-Tier. 4.5* Such a simple movie, that puts so much complex important details into scenes that go unnoticed except to ensure the way the antagonist and protagonists behave in a believable consistent manner. I've not gone out of my way to watch it but I've seen it several times now and enjoyed it each time for different and the same reasons. The only part that I find outlandish is the one scene with the German police acting like American SWAT in the train station. Could be considered B-Grade but only because it has such an eclectic mix of actors. The script, direction and acting is so well done. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir Ben Kingsley are both in this steaming pile, unbelievable. This is one of those movies where I was rooting for the protagonist to die a horrible and painful death at every opportunity. There is nothing endearing about the character or the shallow, forced relationship that motivates him. This is just one unimaginative action sequence after another, with only the most minimal of story threads to pull it along. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Really a surprise hit. Ben Kingsley playing such a funny character in this movie. Good action movie with awesome scenery from Cologne Germany. Great movie to watch with a buddy when the wife's are sleeping. 😁 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Serge L I think this makes the perfect romantic comedy film to bring your girl out. Lots of love motivates a guy to get rich quick by stealing the big mobster and get lucky along the way. The love is romantic and the luck is comedy. Great chase to make the romance palatable to the guys. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/09/21 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle In the end, Collide is a cheap genre product produced with an eye on foreign market box office. Wake me when Dominic Toretto torques his way into Havana. Rated: 1/5 Mar 2, 2017 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Hoult and Jones are unable to breathe much life into their bland characters, and it's ultimately sad to watch the former Hannibal Lecter and Gandhi reduced to playing silly, tough-guy caricatures. Feb 27, 2017 Full Review Ignatiy Vishnevetsky AV Club Unexceptional, a hodgepodge of corny voice-over and repetitive, anticlimactic plotting, with Hoult and Jones miscast as a couple of party-hardy American expats. Rated: C Feb 25, 2017 Full Review Jason Best Marie Claire With tricky flashbacks and dodgy accents throwing sand in the engine, this car-chase thriller stutters and sputters a fair bit before it gets going. Yet when Hoult's fugitive hero hits the autobahn, the movie delivers an exhilarating turn of speed. Jan 11, 2021 Full Review Ricardo Gallegos Pólvora The scenes are so over the top that they turn out quite entertaining, and even funny. [Full review in Spanish] Jul 2, 2020 Full Review John Tones Espinof Its big problem relies in its initial approach, as silly as implausible.
