The publicist for Puerto Rican reggaeton stars Wisin & Yandel said Sunday that the Grammy-winning duo has no intention of breaking up, dismissing comments made by another performer that the pair were going their separate ways.

In a Sunday phone interview, Miami-based publicist Jennifer Nieman said Wisin & Yandel is a “solid duo” with major concerts booked “months down the line,” a clothing line and several endorsement deals.

“They are not breaking up. The brand is solid and intact,” Nieman said.

At a Friday concert in Puerto Rico, reggaeton singer Don Omar spoke of Yandel’s “new facet as a solo performer” while bringing him on stage. Yandel’s real name is Llandel Veguilla Malave, and his singing partner is Juan Luis Morera Luna.

But Nieman says Wisin & Yandel have each done solo projects through the years, which has never led to a split or indicated any problems with the duo.

“They do individual projects and they allow each other that creative freedom,” Nieman said.

Efforts to reach Don Omar’s publicist were unsuccessful Sunday.

Wisin & Yandel began their careers in 1998 and have produced 10 albums. They won a Grammy in 2010 for best urban Latin album and two Latin Grammys, one in 2008 for best urban album and another in 2009 for best urban song. The crossover stars also have collaborated with singers Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez and Lenny Kravitz.
