It seems Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has undergone quite the makeover while in lockdown, if these new photos are anything to go by. Sporting denim cut-offs, pierced ears and long locks tied up in a bun, it’s a far cry from the gender-bending tomboy outfits Shiloh has sported over the years.

The 14-year-old made a rare public appearance when she was snapped visiting an Ethiopian design boutique in Los Angeles alongside mum Angelina Jolie, 45, and 16-year-old sister Zahara on January 8.

Wearing a black hoodie and denim cut-off shorts along with black Converse trainers, Shiloh has also shot up in the height department. In fact, her new look could even be considered conventional or stereotypical – at least when contrasted with her old style.

In a 2008 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Brad opened up about raising Shiloh: “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. It’s a Peter Pan thing. And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’”

Angelina told Vanity Fair in a 2010 interview that Shiloh has been exploring gender since age three. “She wants to be a boy,” Jolie said. “So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boy clothes. She thinks she’s one of her brothers.”

Since then, many fans have widely referred to Shiloh as John, with a full Wikipedia page and social fan pages popping up all over the internet. In fact, a search on Google Trends reveals that online users are searching for both “Shiloh” and “John” pretty equally.

Over the years, Shiloh has also generated buzz with her androgynous, fearless chic style. She was always encouraged by her parents to dress the way she wanted. As a child, she would don casual separates – polo shirts, jackets, blazers, shorts, dark trousers, jeans and oversized tracksuits.

When Shiloh’s parents would bring her to red carpet premieres and events, she skipped gowns and dresses in favour of suits similar to what her dad wore.

So it’s no surprise that followers of the superstar family have noticed the sudden change in Shiloh’s style. “I love this new look! She always looks beautiful with any look though,” commented @dannelope on Instagram. “Good for her or him. Your choice is your own,” said @mcfaddenreid.

In any case, Shiloh’s had a massive growth spurt and seems to already be towering over her mother. They grow up so fast, eh?
