Meet Ricky Martin’s adorable teen twins, Matteo and Valentino: the 50-year-old singer is raising his kids with hubby Jwan Yosef, enjoying the beach, jets and Grammys red carpets

Ricky Martin clearly loves being a father. Since his much-talked-about coming out in 2010, the Livin’ La Vida Loca singer can almost always be seen smiling, laughing and goofing around with his four children.

Martin, 50, is raising his kids with husband Jwan Yosef, 37, a Swedish artist. The eldest of the four, twins Matteo and Valentino, are now 13 – turning 14 next month – and are starting to attract attention themselves thanks to social media. So who are they, and what is there to know about the singer’s adorable offspring?

The twins are now teenagers

Matteo and Valentino are twins who Ricky had through a single father surrogacy process in 2008. Ricky has previously shared that the twins have already asked about having two daddies. “I tell them we are a part of a modern family. This is a beautiful sense of freedom,” the songwriter told the magazine Out.

The boys reportedly enjoy a close relationship with dad Jwan, too.

Matteo and Valentino seem to be fond of travelling. Last year, Ricky posted clips of a fun road trip with Jwan and the twins. In one of his Instagram highlights, the famous singer also uploaded a collection of beach photos and plane rides with the kids.

In 2017 though, the Puerto Rican singer was criticised for taking then-eight-year-old twins to go with him on the road while on tour. In an episode of Dr Oz, Ricky shared, “A lot of people tell me, ‘Rick, but when are you gonna stop [touring], because kids, they need stability?’” To which he replied that the kids would be unstable if he was not around and that they were great during the trip.

Taking cues from his dads, Matteo is apparently the one who’s leaning more into the creative arts, Ricky told People in an interview. Matteo recently made headlines when Ricky shared a photo of him accompanying his dad on the set of a new music video.

It isn’t the first time, though, that the media took notice of Matteo. In 2019, he was also adorably dashing while accompanying the multi-award-winning singer to the Grammy Awards night of that year.

Valentino wants to be the best YouTuber

Valentino, on the other hand, seems to be headed down an equally interesting path. In an interview with People, the She Bangs singer shared, “Valentino is gonna spend his life in front of a screen because he wants to be the best YouTuber in the world.”

The other half of the Martin twins has never been shy of the camera. Though he does not seem to have his own YouTube channel yet, Ricky has previously shared clips of Valentino vlogging.

As Matteo and Valentino hit adolescence, the Martin-Yosef household has also grown with the addition of surrogate daughters Lucia and son Renn, who are both three years old.

A rare complete family picture was shared by Ricky for the August 2020 issue of British Vogue, where he opened up about their quarantine life during the global pandemic. “Keeping busy is not a problem, I have my hands full with two babies and preteen twin boys,” the famous singer shared.
