Katie Holmes & Daughter Suri Cruise ‘Saved Each Other’ with Their Close Mother-Daughter Bond

Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, was only 6 years old when her mother moved her across the country to start a new life in New York City. Holmes made the decision to divorce Cruise in 2012, and his contact with Suri has been limited ever since due to his association with the Church of Scientology. Meanwhile, Holmes and Suri have thrived on the East Coast, forming an inseparable mother-daughter bond that’s only grown stronger as Suri enters her teen years.

A new source talked to Us Weekly about how Holmes and the now-14-year-old Suri support each other as a family. “You’d struggle to find a mom-daughter duo who are more in sync with each other,” the source said. “They’re a real team — their connection is a beautiful thing to witness.”

Holmes has devoted her life to providing the best for her daughter, and her move to New York was in many ways the start of that, signifying that Holmes wanted more for her daughter than the life they shared with Cruise in California. But these days, Suri is no less devoted to her mom.

“If Katie’s feeling stressed or down, Suri’s very compassionate and loving,” the source added. “Katie feels like her daughter really is her little angel…It’s no exaggeration to say that Suri and Katie have saved each other. They really are wonderful together.”

We’re getting a serious Gilmore Girls vibe from all this mother-daughter love, and we’d watch Katie Holmes as a late 2000’s Lorelai any day. They’re stylish, down-to-earth, and fiercely loyal to their family — what’s not to love?
