If there was ever a question (and there was…) of whether Victoria Beckham has a good relationship with her daughter-in-law Nicola, the former Spice Girl is drawing a clear line in the sand today. Victoria posted a birthday tribute on Instagram of her dancing on the beach with Nicola Peltz — who married her son Brooklyn Beckham, 24 in 2022.
“We love you so much!! Your love, kindness, talent and your ability to dance on sand in a major wedge!!😂” Posh Spice wrote in her caption. “The best dance partner and loving daughter in law. We love you, have an amazing day!!!!! Xxxxxx”

In the clip, Victoria and Nicola dance on the sand to “Trouble” by Lindsey Buckingham as the sun sets on a beautiful beach. Victoria is barefoot and Nicola — you guessed it — is dancing in impressive wedges. It’s giving total core memory vibes and the sweet caption makes it clear that Victoria is a warm and loving MIL. (Not like the horror stories we see on Reddit.)
“Ahhh wish everyone has a mother in law like you🥺this family full of love😍i only stan beautiful souls♥️♥️♥️ happiest birthday 🎉🥳,” one follower said. “Dancing together 🙏🏼 Magic ❤️❤️❤️,” said another.
Others felt the need to bring up the reported drama. “Lmfao you couldn’t stand her last year,” one person said. To which others came running to Victoria’s defense: “Oh did she tell you that??! 🙄 are you a close family member to be able to make that judgement for someone?”
In Aug. 2022 — four months after Nicola and Brooklyn said, “I do” — the actress addressed rumors that she and Victoria had a rocky relationship. She told Variety she thinks the rumor mill started spinning when she didn’t wear one of Victoria’s designs for her wedding.

“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Nicola said. “She didn’t say you can’t wear [my Valentino Couture dress]; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”
But it didn’t stop there, forcing Nicola to tell Grazia that fall that the Beckhams are “great” in-laws.
Brooklyn also stepped up to deny the claims, ultimately coming to terms with the unfortunate reality that the lore of this supposed feud may never end. “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that,” he said of the reports. “They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
By “everyone,” we hope he means that Nicola also has a good relationship with his dad, legendary soccer player David Beckham, and his siblings Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 12.
