Former Longpig and noted solo songwriter Richard Hawley has announced that he will release his eighth studio album this September

hree years on from the release of his UK Top 3 album Standing At The Sky’s Edge, Richard Hawley has announced that he will release his eighth studio album this September.

Entitled Hollow Meadows and to be released via Parlophone Records, the record includes some highly regarded contributors, with Nancy Kerr playing the fiddle and viola on three songs and Martin Simpson adding slide guitar and banjo on one. Elsewhere, Jarvis Cocker pops up on the bass and Slow Club’s Rebecca Taylor adds her vocal talents to one of the album’s tracks.

Fans will have high expectations for Hollow Meadows, with its predecessor regarded as one of 2012’s finest records; not only did Standing At The Sky’s Edge make the UK’s Top 3 it was also nominated for that year’s Mercury Prize, losing out to alt-J’s An Awesome Wave.
