Actor Margot Robbie is keeping her glam team busy lately, hopping between Babylon premiere events to awards shows like it's NBD. For her latest appearance in Sydney, the star threw it back to the '90s and channeled Carla Bruni in an icy blue Versace gown just like one worn by the iconic supermodel back in the day — 1995, to be exact.

Margot's Versace gown did differ slightly from Carla's, especially with the addition of crimson red lace at the hem and up the skirt. The pale blue satin gown featured a scalloped neckline, spaghetti straps with silver buckle details, and a gathered waistline that ended in a thigh-high slight. The Barbie star paired the gown with strappy stiletto heels in the same baby blue color for a monochromatic vibe and wore her hair parted in the middle and styled in loose bends.

The gown is gorgeous, but if you look up close, it doesn't quite fit right. There's some distracting lumpiness around the chest, as though the dress was a last-minute pick and they didn't have time to get it altered to fit properly. The red lace is a fun addition, though, and the rest of the look is perfection.

We definitely don't blame Margot for choosing a gown inspired by Carla Bruni, given that the model continues to be a touchstone for a new generation of models and actors, including her lookalike Bella Hadid.

Margot has been taking some style risks while promoting Babylon, including a bright red backless caftan gown from Valentino's S/S 2023 "Unboxing" collection. The color and silhouette were striking on Margot, especially when paired with a matching red lip.

We're deep in the midst of awards season and the Barbie premiere isn't too far away, so there's more coming from Margot — and we can't wait to see what form it will take!
