'Rebelde', also known as RBD, is a famous telenovela series initially inspired by the Argentian series ‘Rebelde Way.’ This new fun spin took place in Mexico where all members met at the “Elite Way” school. The hit series ran from 2004-2006, going over 400 episodes.

Fans were hooked on watching the lives of private boarding school students. The drama between them and their families was perfect because the audience was able to relate to many of the situations that were presented. This series focused on the socioeconomic status of the students at the school. Many of the students were considered high class and had powerful parents.

During the story of the series, a group of students encounters a secret society, also known as “La Logia,” that ensures that everyone at the school is from the high class. While all of this is happening, a band is formed between students who are brought together by "La Logia."

Rebelde was more than just a show to its fans! RBD's music was so successful that the band toured outside of the show itself, selling out thousands of seats in concerts around the world. Nowadays, the band holds over 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Rebelde has been a blueprint for generations, and fan bases are still strong within the RBD community, especially with the recent release of the new generation of Rebelde.

Clearly, the fan base is still alive — so where are the cast members now?

Anahi Giovanna Puente Portilla de Velasco who played Mia Colucci is now 39 years old! After RBD ended, the singer released her own music separate and even appeared in another drama series called “Dos Hogares” in 2012. She is now married to Manuel Velasco Coello, the former Governor of Chiapas. She is also the mother of two children, Manuel and Emiliano.

Alfonso Herrera played the role of Miguel Arango, one of the few low-income students who received a scholarship to attend Elite Way. Similar to Anahi, he is now 39 years old. Herrera is also married to Diana Vasquez and has two children, Oscar and Alejandro. The Mexican actor has stayed in touch with his passions and has had many acting roles since RBD came to an end. Herrera has been featured in 'The Exorcist' (2017), 'Sense8', 'Queen of the South', 'Ozark', 'Dance of the 41', and even has upcoming projects releasing later this year.

The red-head classic and most rebel one of the girls — Roberta Pardo, was an icon in the 2000s. Her role was played by Mexican actress Dulce Maria, who is now 36. Maria got married in 2019 to film producer Paco Alvarez. Later on, she ventured out to create her own music, signing with one of the best record labels in the globe, Universal Music Latin Entertainment to release an album in 2010.

Fun fact: in an interview with Maria Patricia Castañeda, she revealed that she is the great niece of Frida Kahlo through her mother's side!

Rebelde’s heartthrob and Roberta Pardo's love interest on the show, Diego Bustamante, was played by Christopher Von Uckermann who is currently in his thirties (35), flirty, and thriving! Similar to other cast members, Von Uckermann has been able to participate in different projects such as ‘Como Cortar a Tu Patan’ and, most recently, 'Diablero' (2020). In 2021, he released his first-ever English single 'Heal Together'. Unlike on 'RBD' he likes to keep his personal life very private. Currently, he is dating model and actress Muriel Hernandez

Who can forget Guadalupe “Lupita” Fernandez? Elite Ways “good girl.” Guadalupe was played by Maite Perroni Beorlegui. Perroni is 39 years old and has continued acting since her debut in Rebelde. She has been a part of ‘El Juego de las Llaves,’ ‘Triunfo de Amor,’ and her most recent project being ‘Dark Desire’ alongside co-star Alejandro Speitzer.

Last but not least, Giovanni Mendez Lopez was played by Christian Chavez. He is now 38 years old. Chavez has also continued his acting career after Rebelde in shows like ‘Hasta que el Dinero nos Separe,’ ‘Despertar Contigo,’ ‘Madre Solo hay Dos,’ and ‘The House of Flowers.’ Although his love life is a mystery to the public, Chavez keeps his fans up to date with his life on social media.

RBD's cast has grown a lot since their debut in the series and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them. They will always be “Rebelde!”
