Carla Bruni Is Back To Reclaim Her Title As Queen Of Cannes
New faces at this year’s Cannes Film Festival have brought explosive colours, gothic lace and everything in between to the red carpet, but Italian-French beauty Carla Bruni – a longtime darling of the Croisette – has trumped them all with her scene-stealing looks.
The Cannes veteran, model, chanteuse and former first lady of France has put her years of fashion practice into full effect at the 2022 festival. To date, the ageless beauty has worn a beaded lilac Celine gown – accessorised with a multi-coloured necklace and a vape – a sultry black slip by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, and a ruched chocolate number from Vaccarello’s autumn/winter 2022 collection for the house. That last one recalled the slinky brown jersey dress Bruni wore at the festival back in 1998.
It was one of many memorable looks Bruni wore in Cannes throughout that decade, though this year’s appearances prove that the super, now 54, is still more than capable of shutting down a red carpet.
