As common as twinning mommy-and-me style may be, there’s something to be said for those who take a different approach. Case in point: Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise, who stepped out in New York yesterday with two different spins on the statement flat—both ideal for shopping around the city on foot.
Holmes chose an ugly-pretty, two-tone Prada sandal with gold hardware, while her daughter wore a metallic ballet flat with a buckled strap. Holmes kept the casual vibes going with light-wash denim and a graphic T-shirt, but added polish in the form of a Tod’s oversize shoulder bag with black trim. Meanwhile, Suri wore a floral patterned dress with a Peter Pan collar, a quilted lady bag, and a major pink bow pinned behind one ear. Consider it proof that chic mommy-and-me style does not have to match.
