Victoria Beckham Beauty has named Katia Beauchamp, co-founder of pioneering beauty subscription service Birchbox, as its new chief executive, effective immediately. Veteran beauty executive Nance Hastings will join as president in November 2022.

The appointments come at “a pivotal time” for Victoria Beckham Beauty, which is looking to expand globally and ramp up its clean beauty innovations, the company said in a statement. Former CEO Sarah Creal, who co-founded the business with Victoria Beckham in 2019, stepped down in the spring, but the brand declined to comment on why.

David Belhassen, founder and managing partner of Neo Investment Partners, which in 2017 injected £30 million into Victoria Beckham Limited, said the beauty business has had “almost three years of profitable growth” and “very solid foundations have been established”. He described the new appointments as the start of a “second chapter” for the brand.

Beauchamp was instrumental in driving Birchbox’s growth from its inception in 2010 to over a million subscribers and 500 brand partnerships including Mac Cosmetics and Lancôme. Beauchamp stepped down as CEO of the company last year after female-led health and beauty sciences startup Femtec Health acquired the business. Birchbox does not disclose its revenues. Hastings has over 25 years of experience at Estée Lauder Companies across multiple brands in its portfolio, and was most recently president of clean beauty brand Alpyn.

“I am so passionate about our overarching vision for an inclusive, clean beauty brand, and the response and engagement of our community from day one has been phenomenal. Katia and Nance’s expertise, vision and experience are, without doubt, going to be invaluable in helping me grow, shape and continue on this exciting journey,” said Beckham, co-founder and creative director of Victoria Beckham Beauty, in a statement.
