“I will never ever again feel the love I felt for her,” Fielder-Civil said according to the Sun. “Everybody who knew me and knew Amy knew the depth of our love. I can't believe she's dead.” Fielder-Civil is in jail serving 32 months for burglary and a firearms-related offense, according to the paper.

Fielder-Civil and Winehouse had a tumultuous relationship, with the singer reportedly becoming violent toward her ex when she was drinking. Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s father, ahs blamed Fielder-Civil for his daughter’s wild behavior drug abuse. The couple married in Miami in 2007 and divorced two years later.

Sarah Aspin, Fielder-Civil’s girlfriend and the mother of his son, visited him in jail. “Blake rang me on Saturday after the prison authorities told him she'd died,” Aspin told the Sun. “I just couldn't console him. He was in total shock.”

Winehouse was found dead at her London home Saturday. An autopsy performed Monday did not establish a cause of death.
