MP3 blog aggregator the Hype Machine lets users sift through a massive number of hand-picked music blogs in one centralized location. Now, their friends can see what they listened to, thanks to a new Listening History feature that comes as part of a site-wide update.

Other new features include updated profile page navigation and an "unmerican" spy page that lets you see which tracks are most popular in various regions of the world.

Talk about simple...

Step 1: Listen to music on the Hype Machine.

Step 2: Your friends can hear what you heard, what you liked, what youobsessed over and even what your friends are into, all using one simple URL. The Hype Machine aptly calls the combination of these "Music Feed: All the music that matters to [username]."

The new features are nice, but they wouldn't make as much senseif Hype Machine hadn't figured out how to make its pages playable.
Before that – if memory serves – you had to click on each song in orderto hear it.

The Hype Machine now has Play, Stop and Favorite buttons next to each track and tracks play in succession automatically. This means that when you go to someone's Hype Machine profile page, you need only click the Play button for the top track to hear all the songs stream in order. (It looks like Songbird has some competition in that area.)
