Gwen Stefani just announced that she will not be returning for another season of The Voice, and although she has no team members in the season finale, that’s not the reason she’s leaving. After seven (not consecutive) seasons as a coach, one winning season, plus the added bonus of meeting her husband, Blake Shelton, the pop star is finished with The Voice. Instead? Gwen is making her big return to music in 2024.

Gwen Stefani coached seasons 7, 9, 12, 17, 19, and 24 of The Voice, and has only won once, with Carter Rubin, who was 15-years-old when he won. Fans have loved Gwen’s fashionable looks, upbeat personality, and excellent coaching tips, but it’s sadly time to say goodbye to this memorable Voice coach. Keep reading for more information.

Gwen Stefani Is Leaving 'The Voice'

Gwen Stefani is one of four coaches on The Voice, but is sadly the only coach that doesn't have any team members in the final five. Though it would've been nice to go out with another win, her fellow coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Niall Horan will be battling out for the Season 24 crown. But Gwen isn't too sad, as she revealed to Entertainment Tonight: "I feel sad and excited at the same time," she explained. "It's exciting, still, because I've fallen in love with so many people out there and they're just so good. I can't wait to see what's going to happen."

As for her plans for after she retires from The Voice, the singer revealed that she's making her musical comeback: "I'm actually putting out music, so I'm excited about that. I've been working on this for a long time. I've finally landed in that place where I'm obsessed, where I can't stop listening, so I feel like I'm somewhere."

Gwen is also a mother to three boys, Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 9, who she shares with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, so finding time to make music has not been the easiest task. "I'm just trying to find like little pockets of time to make music and it still never gets old," she says, "It's still so exciting and magical.
